REQUIRED RENTAL DOCUMENTS

THE REQUIRED DOCUMENTS ARE

When collecting the vehicle, both the main driver and additional drivers must present a valid Driving Licence with a photocard and a valid Passport.

A driving licence must be presented in legible Roman letters.

A credit card in the name of the main driver is required, with sufficient funds for both the security deposit and for any service or extras requested locally. The card (either credit or debit depending on the destination/supplier) must be in the full name and surname of the driver and display the 16 numbers. The PIN code will be required.

The Flexible Autos voucher is required when picking up your rental car.

If you do not present any of the required documents, the documentation is not valid or you do not have enough funds on your credit card, the car rental agent may refuse to deliver the vehicle, without refunding any amount if the supplier establishes it in its conditions.

IMPORTAN: It is the drivers responsibility to ensure that they have the appropriate licence. Please check with the embassy or consulate in advance.

LICENCE REQUIREMENTS

Driving Licences must be held for a minimum of 1 years.

Customers who have held their licence for less than four years will also have to pay a fee per rental. If the driver is under 25 years old, the supplier will only apply one charge, either the Young driver Surcharge or the Driving licence minimum fee.
For drivers who have held their licence from 1 to 4 years, the charge is 5.95 EUR per day with a maximum charge of 72.00 EUR per rental.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

All Italian citizens need to provide a valid Italian fiscal code card when picking up rental vehicle.

UK tourists are allowed to drive in the EU with a photocard driving licence issued in the UK and do not need an international driving license or a translation.
UK tourists might need an international driving licence in the following cases:
-A non-photocard paper driving licence (issued before 2000)
-A licence issued in Gibraltar, Guernsey, Jersey or the Isle of Man


DEPOSIT

DEPOSIT INFORMATION

In addition to the car rental security deposit, clients may be required to leave a deposit for fuel and/or extras contracted locally.

Credit card should be valid during the rental period. The expire date must excess the drop off date.

Unless otherwise indicated all costs indicated in these terms and conditions are subject to local taxes and fees.

MEGA COVER

The customer has the opportunity to purchase the Mega Relax Cover, this cover can only be sold locally and not in advance, as an upgrade/upsell of the Super Relax, this cannot be sold separated from the Super Relax.

The Mega Relax Cover covers:

The same the above cover: Free 24 hours telephone roadside assistance, wheels, tyres, hubcaps, locks, windows, side and rear-view mirrors, undercarriage, motor, towing service after accident, taxi (transportation), clutch, battery, locks, copy of the key and delivery of the key to closest supplier location, damage to oil sump, catalytic convertor, radiator and exempt of a new deposit of 500.00 EUR for replacement vehicle in case of accident or breakdown and the repair period.

Refuelling mistakes with a maximum of 500.00 EUR; damages and other necessary additional services covered.

Roadside Assistance in case of lost/damaged keys - with the Super Relax we cover the key value but not all the assistance involved. The Mega relax covers the assistance needed to replace the key such as replacement key, taxi to the nearest location, key shipping et cetera.

Roadside Assistance in case of broken windows, we send assistance on road. With the Super Relax we cover the damages to the windows but we do not provide assistance on road. The assistance on road is provided with the Mega Relax.

Flat Tyre: Roadside Assistance, we send assistance on road. With the Super Relax we cover the damages to the tyres but we do not provide assistance on road. The assistance on road is provided with the Mega Relax.

Out of Fuel - we send assistance to collect the car; damages and other necessary additional services covered.

The high season dates for the additional protection covers are: 01/06/2019 - 30/09/201, 20/12/2020 - 06/01/2020.

FUEL POLICY

THE FUEL POLICY IS

Cars are supplied with a full tank of fuel, this is charged at the beginning of the rental. Cars should be returned full for a refund of the pre-paid amount.
The client will be charged for a full tank of fuel and a service surcharge at the start of the rental of between 98.00 - 237.00 EUR plus tax.
The fuel charge is between 78.00 - 187.00 EUR plus tax, depending on the car group and fuel being supplied.
The service charge is between 20.00 - 50.00 EUR plus tax, depending on the car group and fuel supplied.
Unused fuel will be refunded excluding service charge (operational and logistical expenses).
Please note if returning the hire car on a Sunday, many fuel stations in Italy are closed, and will only operate automated card machines.

The supplier applies minimum charge of 90 EUR for a young driver for car groups N, T, V, VV, LL, plus any additional days.

There is no maximum age limit (Subject to the driving licence expiration and licence requirements)


ADDITIONAL DRIVERS

ADDITIONAL DRIVER REQUIRMENTS ARE

Additional drivers have a local charge of 9 EUR per day plus local taxes with a maximum charge of 90 EUR per rental plus local taxes.

All additional drivers must meet all rental requirements, accompany the main driver when picking the rental car up and sign the rental agreement.

Your booking is allowed a maximum of 3 additional drivers per rental.


DRIVING RESTRICTIONS

GENERAL RESTRICTIONS ARE

Driving the vehicle without prior consent outside of the hire country will invalidate the agreed insurance coverage.

CROSS BORDER/INTERNATIONAL ONE-WAYS

International one-way travel is NOT available. The vehicle insurance will be deemed void if vehicles are not returned to the agreed pick-up location.

Cross border is allowed to the following Provinces and Countries:

Vehicles picked up in: BARI, BERGAMO, BOLOGNA, PISA, ROME - CIAMPINO, ROME - FIUMICINO, MILAN - MALPENSA, VENICE, TREVISO, TORINO, FLORENCE and VERONA.

Allowed to travel to: Switzerland, France, Croatia and Slovenia.

The charges are:

1 - 3 day rentals 40.00 EUR per rental
4 - 7 day rentals 60.00 EUR per rental
8 + day rentals onwards 80.00 EUR per rental

Vehicles picked up all Italian offices, travelling to Sicily and Sardinia, NO extra charge.

TRAVELLING BETWEEN ISLANDS

Vehicles can be driven to: Carloforte, Calasetta, Maddalena, Caprera, Asinara & Sant Antioco Islands

NATIONAL ONE-WAY TRAVEL

For National one-way travel, we will confirm the availability and the price of this service once the reservation has been made and we have received a confirmation from the supplier.


GRACE PERIOD

THE GRACE PERIOD IS

The supplier establishes a grace period of 59 minutes from the indicated time in the reservation.

If the vehicle has not been returned after the grace period, an unauthorised charge will be levied of 40.00 EUR per day, and a full rental day, as well as, charges for the number of days late, will be charged to the customer.

IMPORTANT:
The client must scrupulously comply with the delivery and return times indicated in their reservation and on their voucher.
Although the number of rental days as well as their price are calculated based on 24-hour periods, some providers charge penalties or even additional days from the exact return time that appears in the reservation, without taking into account the period of 24 hours.
Flexible Autos will not make any refund / compensation for this reason.

OUT OF HOURS SERVICE

THE OUT OF HOURS SERVICE AVAILABILITY IS

The Out of Hour service for collecting the rental vehicle is by request basis only. This service may not be available at all locations. There will be an extra charge of 40.00 EUR + tax, in some cases airport/location fees may also be applied. All Out of Hours pick-up fees are to be pay locally.

A key/drop box is available, free of charge. If dropping the rental vehicle off at the rental location, outside of the main opening hours. The customer is liable for the vehicle until the suppliers office opens the next working day. The key/drop box may only be available at some locations.

Flights numbers are essential when collecting you rental vehicle outside of the suppliers main operating hours.


CANCELLATIONS AND NO SHOWS

CANCELLATION AND NO SHOW POLICIES AND FEES

Cancellation policy and fees: Cancellations are generally free of charge up to 48hrs prior to collection. If your reservation is cancelled within 48 hours of your collection time, charges may apply. Please contact the Flexible Autos call centre to confirm any possible charges.
No show policy and fees: The booking will be considered a ''''No Show'''' for a number of reasons, but not limited to: failure to collect your rental car at the agreed booked time, if the main driver and any named drivers are unable to present the requested documentation, failure to present a valid driver’s licence, failure to provide a credit card with enough credit for the deposit, or are found to be incapable of driving the vehicle through, alcohol or drugs. A 100% cancellation fee will apply unless otherwise stated. No refunds are payable on cars returned early.


SUPPLIER/ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE

ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE INFORMATION

In case of a breakdown customers must stay with the car and contact the rental office for assistance. Telephone numbers are on the rental paperwork, please confirm at the time of pick-up of the rental vehicle.

In the cases of an accident or vehicle breakdown, a new deposit will be necessary for the collection of a substitution vehicle.

The Roadside Assistance telephone number is inside the rental contract

SUPPLIER CONTACT INFORMATION

Telephone assistance is free for every customer on weekdays between 09:00 - 18.30.

There will be a service charge that will no exceed 30 EUR for contacting Roadside Assistance/S.O.S outside of these hours.


EXTRA INFORMATION AND COSTS

ADDITIONAL CLEANING SERVICES

A charge of up to 180 EUR will be applied if the vehicle is returned, exceptionally dirty, and the vehicle requires special cleaning.

WINTER COVER

All vehicles rented from particular offices will have snow chains inside the car; as required by Italian Law. it is not necessary for the customer to request this in advance.

SNOW CHAINS:
All the vehicles rented in the offices below will have the snow chains inside the car (as required by the
Italian Law).
Therefore, it will not be necessary that the customer requests this in advance and they will be free of
charge.

With regards to the offices in Catania, Cagliari, Olbia & Palermo the vehicles will NOT have snow
chains inside the car (they are not necessary in these locations) but in case a customer needs the
snow chains to go up a mountain/volcano, it will be possible to request this when the customers collect the car (subject to availability and also free of charge).

RENTAL EXTENSION

Please note that it may not always be possible to extend the hire. When the rental branch agrees to extend the hire, the rental will be charged at the prevailing rate which may be higher or lower than the original booking rate.
Rental extension must be requested direclty to the rental branch

The collaborator must send any vehicle hire extension to Goldcar to the corresponding location/airport by e-mail or
fax (the location has to confirm or deny the extension) and always send a copy of this extension by e-mail to the
following e-mail address as well:
extensions@goldcar.com
The minimum period of time required to send the extensions is 24 hours prior to the end of the current contract.
The customer must also travel in person to the closest Goldcar location in order to make the necessary adjustments to
the rental contract. Rental periods cannot be extended by telephone. If for any reason the rental period cannot be
extended, then the customer is obligated to return the rental Vehicle at the location, time and date agreed upon on
the rental contract.
IMPORTANT: For all extensions of contracts we will apply the price according to the original booking date and not
according to the date when the extension is made.
The extension cannot be sent as a new booking. It will always be an extension of an existing contract

DELAYED OR DIVERTED FLIGHTS

If a flight lands in a different airport than initially booked, customer will have the possibility of getting the car in that destination Airport, subject to availability (if the supplier is present in that location) and at a fee per rental of 60.00 EUR.

Reservations will be held for 6 hour(s) from the specified reservation, during the business open hours time, after which they will be classed as a no-show. If a customer arrives after this time then a vehicle is not assured. We will do everything possible to provide a vehicle. This may include offering a different vehicle and rates may be different to the original booking. Flight numbers provided are for informational purposes only. It is the responsibility of the customer to inform the location of any delays

ADDITIONAL DAMAGE/LOSS CHARGES

In case the vehicle is abandoned there will be a charge of 40.00 EUR per day including tax, plus the daily rental cost, per day to recover the vehicle.

In case of damage or loss to the vehicle documents, the customer will be charged 105.00 EUR including VAT.

TRAFFIC ADMINISTRATION FINES

If the customer receives a traffic fine, such as but not limited to, a speeding or parking fine, the customer will be charge 40.00 EUR, per offence.

ACCIDENT ADMINISTRATION FINES

There will be an Administration fee charged to the customer of 50.00 EUR if they are involved in an accident (File proceedings) and have NOT taken our Super Relax Cover.

PETS ON BOARD

No pets on board of the rented vehicle are allowed

RENTAL DURATION

The rental maximum days is 28 days.

Please read the Terms and Conditions of your vehicle hire carefully before signing for the rental vehicle.

Please note, not all supplier excess waivers cover the following, unless otherwise stated in the excess waiver packages: damage to wheels, tyres, hubcaps, locks, windows, side and rear-view mirrors, undercarriage of the vehicle, suspension, damage to clutch, damage to exterior paintwork. Any damage and loss incurred not arising from general use.

If there is an option extra and service you do not want, you must ask for the removal of the item before signing the contract. Any option extra and service that is accepted with the customer’s signature will be charged to your credit card and Flexible Autos you will not be able to reimburse it later.

DRIVER NEGLIGENCE

Driver negligence''s and deliberate damage/loss, are not covered by the suppliers insurance waivers, and will incur additional costs and administration charges, if the customer has been found to have acted against the terms and conditions of the rental agreement:

Dropping the rental vehicle off at a supplier office, other than agreed in the rental agreement.

Abandoning the vehicle.

All costs derived from the use of the incorrect and/or lack of petrol.

The supplier is not to be held liable for items stolen, forgotten or lost inside the vehicle. It is recommended having these items covered through personal travel cover.

The loss/damage of the vehicle documents and/or keys.

It is not permitted to remove the vehicles seats.

If the driver is found to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and/or found using their cellular phone at the time of the accident.

Driving the vehicle when tired and not feeling well.

The use not permitted includes and is not limited to the following cases mentioned by way of example: Pushing or towing another vehicle.

Driving in areas not suited to public transport, such as beaches, race tracks, forestry roads, back roads, dirt roads and very poorly paved roads that could cause damage to the underside of the vehicle.

Driving the vehicle in restricted areas, and more specifically on airport roads and other roads for aeronautical and/or military use.

Negligent behaviour when the vehicle’s indicators show an alert that customer’s state are known to them when they sign the agreement.

Transport of goods or animals and, in particular, substances that are hazardous, inflammable and/or poisonous for the vehicle and its occupants.

The transport of individuals or goods for which the customers receive direct or indirect payment.

Using the vehicle for unlawful activities, reckless driving, sub-leasing the vehicle, giving driving lesson, or teaching special driving technics.

Transporting a number of passengers and amount of luggage not authorised for the vehicle concerned.

Manipulation of the speedometer. Customers must report any malfunction of the speedometer to the supplier immediately.

Transport of luggage or any other item on the vehicle’s roof, even when an adequate luggage rack is used for the purpose.

Damage to the vehicle caused by leaving tempting items in plain sight inside the vehicle.

Dirtying the inside of the vehicle beyond what would be expected from reasonable and careful use.

Driving against the traffic regulations.

The vehicle is driven by a person who is not authorised to do so in the agreement, as either a customer and/or a supplementary driver.

Continued use of the vehicle after the rental period has ended.

The terms and conditions presented in the rental voucher are reviewed and updated by the supplier on a regular basis. Flexible cars are not responsible for the updates if made after the booking has been made.

Customers can rent a comfortable folding bike to complement their holiday to be requested on arrival at the desk at Palma Airport.

5,95€ per day.

The helmet is not included although this accessory will be available for sale (not rent) at a price of 12€ (per helmet).

It is necessary to leave a deposit of 200€ which will be unblocked (refunded if a debit card is used as the deposit is charged) when the bike is returned in good condition.

CYCLE HIRE

Customers can rent a comfortable folding bike to complement their holiday to be requested on arrival at the desk at Nice Airport.
